In our second year as an FTC team in the 2009/2010 season, we are officially T-REX, and we hope the name will stay. The game is Hot Shot! Below are some pics from San Diego competition. Our robot used zip ties to collect the balls, a conveyor belt of non-stick pad to carry the balls up to the shooter, and two wheels to shoot the balls. We didn't win anything at San Diego.

Three cheers for our amazing mascot, Joey!

We made some changes after San Diego, and Rexie 2.0 became Rexie 2.1. We added non-stick pad to the shooting wheels so it would shoot more accurately. We also made a new belt out of non-slip pad, so it would be harder to tear. Finally, we added a Lego motor to break up bridges going onto the belt. In Las Vegas, we got the Connect Award. Here are some pics from the competition.

We were allied with our sister school, SSA Davis Mountain for one Qualifying Match. In that match, we scored a total of 3?? points, the highest score of the day.

We brought along two kids from our school's FLL team to observe the competition.

We organized the Hot Shots for Haiti fundraiser. People could pledge on team's, say a dime per point, or make a flat donation. All of the money goes to the Red Cross to help out Haiti.
